Collins was selected first overall in the 1973 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers out of Illinois State and went on to four All-Star appearances before injuries cut his playing career short. He later coached the Bulls, Pistons, Wizards, and 76ers, and called the NBA on TNT for nearly two decades.
